From the 1960s until the 1990s, the most influential room at Anfield was a small, dingy broom cupboard under the main stand. This is the story of Liverpool’s Boot Room.

About Tifo Football:
Informative, illustrated football analysis. Home of WhiteboardFootball®.

Tifo loves football. We know there’s an appetite for thoughtful, intelligent content, for stuff that makes the complicated simple.

Our illustrated and live action YouTube videos address all aspects of the game, including tactics, history, and the business of football.

We provide analysis on the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, World Cup and more.

Our podcasts interview some of the game’s leading figures. And our editorial covers football with depth and insight.

Tifo Football used to be uMAXit Football – we changed our name in November 2017 to better articulate who we are and what matters to us: making football accessible to its fans through story-telling and the expertise and insight of our team of writers and producers.

Tifo was nominated by the Football Supporters’ Federation for the ‘Best Online Media’ Award in 2017 and 2018.

We also make bespoke videos.

  1. 50 years ago LFC's success was built upon the coaches chatting in the storeroom where they kept their stash of booze. Today it is all down to having an official Egyptian real estate partner. I don't think that the world has necessarily changed for the better.

  2. Bill Shankly; Built an ordinary second division team into English Champions within 5 years, was the only manager alongside Busby at the time to build not one but two successful teams, his on a football strategy rather than forced to due to a tragedy, laid down a successful footballing philosophy that outlasted him and dominated English football for decades, overall won 3 League Titles, 1 UEFA Cup & 2 FA Cups

Bob Paisley; Built on Shankly's philosophy to consistently build top teams by being more ruthless in selling players once they had become too old and immediately replacing them with top youngsters ensuring Liverpool always had a world class lineup, a philosophy later adopted Sir Alex Ferguson, and overall won 6 League Titles, 3 European Cups, 1 UEFA Cup, 3 League Cups & 1 European Super Cup in only 9 years

Joe Fagan; First manager in English football to win a treble and overall achieved 1 League Title, 1 European Cup, 1 League Cup and reached a second European Cup final all in only 2 years.

Ronnie Moran; Gave his whole life to Liverpool FC starting as a youth player before moving to full time player and then eventually a coach until he retired aged 64. His contribution as a coach during Liverpool's golden era of the 70s and 80s turned rookies into legends

You'll never get a better backroom team than that

  3. "Buy non-permanent markers" and "Tifoddich." XD

I'll buy a bottle of the latter, if ya'll make it. I'm sure it will be an incredibly smooth blend that's both complex and simple, over too soon and satisfying.

  4. OK, Liverpool supporters born and raised in the UK, give us the names of knighted individuals that make Bob Paisley's exclusion from that club look even more ridiculous than it already does.
